The year 2024 marks a turning point for Volvo's electric line-up in Quebec. For the first time, the total number of low-emission vehicles (plug-in hybrid and electric) exceeds the number of combustion-powered Volvos in the catalog.
And for good reason: the Volvo EX30 and Volvo EX90 are coming to Quebec.
In this article, we list the electric vehicles available from Volvo for 2024 and what's new in this line-up.
The Volvo C40 Recharge
Let's start with the Volvo C40 Recharge, which arrived in Quebec 2 years ago.
For 2024, it offers a new 2-wheel-drive rear version with 478 kilometers, and a new range for the 4-wheel-drive version, increasing from 360 kilometers to 414 kilometers.
New colors ("Vapor Grey" and "Cloud Blue") and new 19' wheels are also available.
But the real novelty of 2024 is the delivery time. If you order a Volvo C40 Recharge as you read this, you'll be able to take delivery within 30 days (depending on the version you choose).
The Volvo XC40 Recharge
The Volvo XC40 is the first electric vehicle in the Volvo range.
For 2024, a lower-priced rear-wheel-drive version is available, with a new range of 472 kilometers. For the 4-wheel drive version, it gains an additional 20% range, i.e. 409 kilometers on a full charge cycle.
Just like the Volvo C40 Recharge, if you decide to order the vehicle after reading these lines, it is possible to receive your Volvo XC40 within 30 days (depending on the version chosen).
As for styling, the Volvo XC40 benefits from the same new colors ("Vapor Gray" and "Cloud Blue") and new 19' wheels.
The Volvo EX30
One of the long-awaited additions to the Volvo line-up is the Volvo EX30.
In fact, for those lucky enough who have been at the Science Centre in Montreal's Old Port, you were able to preview the Volvo EX30 and EX90.
But what about order and delivery dates?
If you're interested in owning a Volvo EX30, you'll be able to place an order as early as autumn 2023 (i.e. soon), and take delivery in early 2024.
As for range, Volvo announces up to 442 kilometers on its single-motor version.
If you want to know more about the Volvo EX30, we've devoted a full article to it right here.
The Volvo EX90
Of all the new additions to the Volvo 2024 range, the Volvo EX90 tops the list.
A direct evolution of the Volvo XC90, but 100% electric, it embodies a range of new features and technologies that will make the experience of driving a Volvo even more enjoyable.
Examples include LiDAR technology, Google Maps HD and new battery technologies that will enable us to reach 600 kilometers of autonomy in the near future.
However, there are still a few questions about its arrival in Quebec dealerships. At the time of writing, we expect deliveries in mid-to-late 2024.
But we'll be sure to write to you when we know more!
Are electric Volvos eligible for government rebates?
With all these electric innovations, the question arises: are our vehicles eligible for government rebates of up to $12,000?
As a reminder, the $5,000 provincial rebate (iZEV) and the $7,000 rebate from the Quebec government's "Roulez Vert" program offer a significant reduction.
As for the Volvo range, with the exception of the Volvo EX90, all our vehicles are eligible for government rebates.
Conclusion
Now you know all the new electric Volvos that await you in 2024 at Volvo Cars Saint-Léonard.
