At Volvo, the future is electric. To increase the visibility of this vision, the brand has decided to create a new segment to be on this forefront: the Volvo Recharge range.
All models hybrid or 100% electric
A new visual signature will make these hybrid or electric models instantly recognisable.
Since Volvo’s objective is to make every single model available as a hybrid or an electric variant, the Swedish manufacturer will rapidly see an increase in offer of the Recharge range.
T8 badges will disappear in 2021
Volvo Canada already offers plug-in hybrid vehicles on our market. These models are identifiable by the T8 badge adorning the rear of the vehicles.
Starting in 2021, All current hybrid vehicles offered by Volvo will integrate the Recharge brand and their nomenclature will change as following (for example): Volvo XC60 T8 R-Design will become Volvo XC60 Recharge R-Design.
Therefore, these vehicles will now be identified using the badge below.
The Volvo Recharge range for 2021
As we put this in writing, Volvo Canada should offer the following Recharge-branded models:
- Volvo XC60 Recharge
- Volvo XC90 Recharge
- Volvo S60 Recharge
- Volvo V60 Recharge
- Volvo XC40 Recharge - 100% electric
The Volvo XC40 Recharge (or electric XC40) will be the only model in the range to offer a 100% electric drivetrain.
During the 2021 model year, there is talk that a new all-electric model named Volvo C40 could make its debut.
