Since its launch in the summer of 2000, the Volvo S60 has evolved through 3 consecutive generations. The first, marketed until 2009, focused on safety. From 2010 to 2018, the 2nd generation, introducing a more modern design and advances in safety (City Safety system). We already talked about it in the article on the 2023 Volvo XC60 and the 2023 Volvo XC40, the Swedish brand has decided to simplify its finishes by stopping the release of the Momentum, R-Design and Inscription names from the year 2023.
So what exactly does this change mean? Which versions will replace the Momentum, R-Design and Inscription? How can you configure your new Volvo in 2023?
We explain it all in this article.
The discontinuation of Momentum, R-Design and Inscription finishes.
Since the introduction of the new Volvo XC90 in 2016, you could order a vehicle by choosing three different trims: Momentum, R-Design and Inscription. Each trim automatically coming with a set of interior features and an indistinguishable exterior design.
For the year 2023, Volvo has decided to offer more flexibility in configurations. With the introduction of the Core, Plus and Ultimate interior trims, as well as the Base (formerly Momentum), Bright (formerly Inscription) and Dark exterior trims, it is now possible to create a Volvo that reflects your personality.
For example, you can choose a Plus interior trim with Bright or Dark exterior. Or an Ultimate trim with Dark or Bright exterior.
And to make your Volvo unique on the streets of Montreal, it is always possible to add options, such as the new wheels or the new colors offered in the 2023 catalog.
Finally, only the Core interior finish will not pair with the Dark and Bright exterior finishes.
Configure a Volvo with the new trims in 2023
So what does this new interior and exterior trim include?
Let's take a look at the new Volvo XC60 2023 and configure it together.
Step One: Choose the interior trim level between Core, Plus and Ultimate.
The main advantage of the new finishes in 2023 is the expansion of the equipment already included.
For example, every Volvo comes with safety features such as Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitor and Oncoming Traffic Collision Avoidance, as well as technology and comfort features such as a panoramic sunroof and Google service.
By choosing the Plus and Ultimate trim levels, you get more standard equipment and more options.
Step 2: Choose the exterior finish between Bright (formerly Inscription) and Dark (formerly R-Design)
As explained in the first part of the article, it is possible from the Plus finish to choose an exterior finish at no extra cost. Depending on your taste, choose between a shiny, chrome Scandinavian style or a more dynamic style.
Step Three: Choose your color, wheels and interior.
Step 4: Add your final options to make your Volvo unique (equipment package or individual option)
